1973年外務省入省。米国研修後、米国、マレーシア、ニュージーランド、フィリピンの日本大使館等で在外勤務。欧亜局大洋州課首席事務官、国際連合日本政府代表部一等書記官、在エジプト日本国大使館参事官、経済局海洋室長、領事移住部邦人保護課長、在ニューヨーク総領事館首席領事、在香港総領事館首席領事などを経て2008年10月より現職。

Consul-General of Japan at Nashville
Sato entered the Japanese Foreign Ministry in 1973. His overseas assignments include the Embassies in the U.S., Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Egypt and the Permanent Mission to the UN. He also served as Director of Ocean Affairs and Director for Protection of Japanese Nationals Overseas. He was the Deputy Consul-General of Japan in New York and also in Hong Kong before he assumed his current post in Oct. 2008.
